Year 2000

This week on KBLA’s Lyric Lounge… we time travel to the year 2000. Back when flip phones snapped shut with sass, velour ruled closets, and music hit with emotion and edge. Teal floats through All Saints’ “Black Coffee” — a smooth, ambient brew of love and reflection. Tosha leans into the silk-and-tears R&B of Carl Thomas’ “My Valentine.” Ural goes left with Eminem’s “Drug Ballad,” where the party’s loud, but the pain is louder. It’s a playlist that captures love, loss, and lyrical truth at the turn of the millennium. Now streaming on all platforms. #kblalyriclounge #kbla1580 #year2000vibes #allsaints #carlthomas #eminem #blackcoffee #myvalentine #drugballad #turnofthemillennium #early2000smusic #soulvibes #hiphoptruth #rnbclassics
