Year 28 Begins! A New Adventure of Radical Faithfulness with Jesus
from LIFE ON MISSION Podcast with TANNER KLEIN · host Tanner Klein - LIFE ON MISSION
How does one begin a “year of radical faithfulness” exactly? This is what I believe the Lord is inviting me to pursue with Him in this new year of life. What does this entail? Many things, for sure.I think a primary factor here is aligning my will with God’s will, my desires with His.So, here are some of what I believe are Spirit-led desires necessary for this year of radical faithfulness with God.I believe these align well with God’s Word, and after praying, I believe these align well with His will for me.While I’m writing these desires as my “wants,” I am also uplifting these to the Lord as prayers and supplications with gratitude, believing by faith that He hears these requests and will answer in ways beyond what I can even ask, think, or imagine.I hope this post fans your faith into flame and inspires you to pursue faithfulness to the Lord as He leads you.My PrayerLord God Almighty,You are good. You have always been good to me.Your steadfast love endures forever and satisfies the deepest desires and needs of my soul.Thank You for 28 years of life! Living life with You really makes every day, every moment meaningful.I bring these requests before You, trusting that You hear me, that You are already moving, and that Your Spirit both inspired me and will empower me to believe I have received these requests by faith.Have Your way in our lives, good and gracious King!Teach us to partner with You.Teach us to love what You love.Teach us to pursue lives of faithfulness and intimacy with You.May the mediations of my heart, the words of my mouth, and the work of my hands be pleasing to You, awesome Father in heaven.I pray for every reader and listener: Father, bring inspiration, encouragement, faith, and a growing desire to walk faithfully with Jesus, our Good Shepherd.I pray in the name of Jesus my Lord,Amen.Hallelujah! Thank You, Lord!My Desires for Year 28I want to abide in the Vine, in Jesus, remaining in His love and producing a harvest of good fruit. I’m talking about juicy growth-in-character fruit, like: * love & joy, * peace & patience, * kindness & goodness, * faithfulness & gentleness, and * Spirit-empowered self-control.I want to walk by faith with the Lord my Good Shepherd over the long run, like Abraham.I want to walk with God and please Him, like Enoch.I want to live with resolve, like Daniel, forsaking even seemingly good things for the sake of living faithfully to God.I want to be consistently faithful in the little things regardless of the immediate results, like Joseph.I want to truly live like the ever-present, living God is with me every moment of every day—as He is—like Jesus lived.More than ever, I want to treasure intimacy—real relational closeness—with my Creator.I want my whole life, from how I work to how I rest, to powerfully reveal: God, I love You!I want alignment between my beliefs about God and the way I live.I want to enjoy the Lord as my greatest, most precious treasure.I want to be so satisfied in my Father’s love that I wouldn’t seek satisfaction in any lesser thing.I want to seek the Kingdom of God first, and His righteous, as Jesus commanded us, trusting wholeheartedly that all God knows Lord: hating evil, loving righteousness, gaining wisdom, and forsaking sin.I want to represent Jesus well, as a faith-filled, Christ-centered, God-fearing ambassador of Christ and the Kingdom of God.I want the light of Christ to brilliantly shine through me to the world around me, knowing darkness flees in the presence of light.I want to joyfully walk in obedience, seeking out how I can be faithful to the Lord.I want to feast on the Word of God as daily bread, and drink from the Lord’s living water so I won’t thirst after things that won’t truly satisfy.I want to walk as a faithful man of God, husband & dad, leading well by following Jesus.I want to be a love-filled dad: full of joy, present, consistent, dependable, and grounded in the truth of God’s Word.I want to celebrate the freedom and abundant life we have in Christ.I want to know God and make Him known.I want to grow in friendship with my Creator.I want to avad with God by the power of the Holy Spirit: serving Him with joy, with Jesus to the full, embracing God’s will, perfect timing, and beautiful design.I want my days to be filled with prayer, in constant communication with God.I want to joyfully shema, to hear and obey by faith.I want to please the LORD my Maker.I want to live like anything is possible with God.I want to enjoy the little moments: moments of peace & quiet & stillness, moments of laughing with friends and family, moments of challenge and waiting, moments of repentance and returning, even unexpected crazier-then-imagined moments.I want to value what God has placed before me: the priorities, the opportunities, the challenges.I want to value where God has placed me for such a time as this—and not live like the grass is greener elsewhere.I want to value who God has placed in my life: family, friends, coworkers, neighbors, & even strangers—otherwise known as potential friends.I want to learn new things, apply my learnings, and share them with others.I want to love people without expecting anything in return.I want to serve the least, the last, and the lost.I want to play a role in combatting human trafficking: praying, raising awareness to prevent trafficking, and celebrating redemption, life, and freedom.I want to see the redeeming power of God on display in the lives of the least, last, and lost across Paris and beyond.I want to grow in my heart for intercession, aligning my heart with the Lord’s and praying and interceding according to His will.I want to partner with Jesus in making faithful disciples who make faithful disciples who make faithful disciples as the Kingdom of God advances and darkness flees.I want to show hospitality that shows the love of Jesus and represents the Kingdom of God well.I want to be a solid, dependable, Spirit-led, friend.I want to see the world, my surroundings, and other people more like God sees them.I want to be a Spirit-filled man of faith, resolve, & action, speaking the truth in love and living in a way that reveals the transformative love & truth of God.I want to speak French more fluently and exercise with diligence & dedication.I want to stay conscious of the Lord’s leadership and guidance as I continue to pursue my degree in Innovation & Entrepreneurship and prepare to teach what I learn to equip the least, the last, & the lost—those who never had the opportunity to pursue higher education in things like innovation & entrepreneurship.I want to write and publish things that glorify God, inspire faith, & encourage others to walk with the Lord.I want to live like life on earth is short and eternity is long.I want a heart that’s truly willing to go where God leads, when He leads, how He leads.I want to want God more.I want to want God more!Friends, I hope this fires up your faith! I hope this post inspires you to want God more, to live a love-saturated life of faith, walking with the Lord your Maker, the Lover of our souls.I also want to share the exciting reminder that this is just the beginning with God.Here’s what I mean:Whether you’re toward the sunset of your life or sending kids off to school or navigating your 20s, relative to eternity, we’re all just getting started with God.It’s good to remember that we can approach our Father in heaven like the children that we are.Because the veil to the Holy of holies was torn by Christ’s sacrifice for us on the cross, we get to come boldly before God’s throne of grace and find mercy from our Maker who loves us.I hope that this post encourages you to invite the Lord to shape your desires, trusting that He will give us the desire and the ability to do what makes Him smile.May our faithful God bless and inspire you to walk with Jesus by faith and pursue faithfulness to Him as He leads you. Amen!If there’s a friend or couple that you think might be blessed by hearing this post, feel free to share it.
