Yellow Brit Road, 26 July 2020

from Yellow Brit Road · host Yellow Brit Road CFRC

This week on the Yellow Brit Road, lost tapes, Cardiacs, rock and poetry! We had old-new music from the Rolling Stones, aided by Mick Jagger having some extra time on his hands to dig through the archives to find a lost cassette of a recording the band did with Jimmy Page, which manifested itself into a new release! We also paid tribute to Tim Smith of Cardiacs. RIP. This week's new music was from Dry Cleaning, The Hipshakes, Problem Patterns, Abjects, and a vivid poetry performance from spoken word artist George the Poet. We surveyed the Two-Tone movement of the 80's, listened to the Specials, and had a new Gorillaz tune! Masala Chai this was graciously provided by Australian synth punk band Kitchen People, NY-based Peel Dream Magazine and Toronto-based Kiwi Jr. This week's playlist can be found here, and individual artists on their Bandcamps. Catch Yellow Brit Road live on your dial at cfrc.ca every Sunday from 8 to 9 PM! Get in touch with the show: Email [email protected] or tweet @YellowBritCFRC
