Yellow Brit Road 9 February 2025: Welsh Lanuage Music Day (Dydd Miwsig Cymru)!

The first Friday of every February is Dydd Miwsig Cymru or Welsh-language Music Day, and we celebrated its 2025 edition with some cerddoriaeth Gymraeg, music old and new in Cymraeg. Music played on the show this week included: Gorky's Zygotic Mynci, Moletrap, Adwaith, Kizzy Crawford, Mellt, Sage Todz, Bandicoot, Carwyn Ellis & Rio 18, HMS Morris, Gwenno, Datblygu, Band Pres Llareggub, Tara Bandito, Das Koolies and Super Furry Animals. A few more recommendations from me are in this week's show playlist, consisting of tracks I couldn't get to by Catatonia, Dom James & Lloyd, Alffa, Ffa Coofi Pawb, Heather Jones, Gruff Rhys and more. Find this week's playlist here. Do try and support artists directly! Note: The pod's been taken down from Spotify. While I sort that out, why not touch that dial and tune in live? We're on at CFRC 101.9 FM in Kingston, or on cfrc.ca, Sundays 8 to 9:30 PM! Listen back to full shows in the linked CFRC archive for 3 months from broadcast. Like what we do? CFRC is in the middle of its annual funding drive! Donate to help keep our 102-year old station going!
