Yerba Buena (Mix)

(( Funky Deep House )) Conceived with more of a chill aspect in mind, the Yerba Buena mix project contains tracks with a bit mellower sound than what I am accustomed to mixing. It still however maintains a signature vibe that I have managed to develop over the past year and a half whereas the premise revolves around gradual builds and drops between mixes mashed together with intelligent transitional elements giving the compilation a seamless flow from start to finish. This being said there are still some tracks that groove and move. Donna Summer's "Bad Girls" comes to mind and it's placement within the mix is a tribute to her as she recently passed earlier in the summer (2012). She was definitely a dance music icon and will remain so... Other artists include Sonny Fodera, DJ Dan, Scott Diaz, Demarkus Lewis, Groove Federation, Inland Knights, and J Jay. The ratio percentage between my own original work and artist material remains close to 30/70. I've managed to find a good balance by keeping that ratio. The process used is the same as the "Real to Reel" mix released earlier this summer... "in and out of the box" the box being the computer and out of the box being my Studio gear infusing samples, Synth decorations and Bass lines...
