Yesavage Near Return as Jays Push for Playoff Spot | Toronto Blue Jays News

Toronto Blue Jays are clinging to playoff hopes, one game behind the Cleveland Guardians but holding the tiebreaker — and they’re getting a key piece back soon. Right-hander Trey Yesavage, sidelined since August with a knee injury, is nearing his return after successful rehab throws and is set to start a rehab assignment this Tuesday with Triple-A Buffalo. Manager John Schneider expects him back in Toronto by Sunday or Monday, ready to pitch a couple of innings in crucial games — not as a starter, but as a vital bullpen arm. With a 3.65 ERA and strong postseason form last year, Yesavage’s return could be a game-changer for a team fighting for its postseason life.
