Yeshua: Daily Tamid Lamb Offering Pt 2 ~ Half Shekel Offerings: A Communal Sacrifice

In this teaching segment we will look at the commandment from the God of Israel that every Israelite of the age of 20 and older was to bring once a year, a half shekel. The half shekels was collected for the service of the Temple. The half shekel was also given for the atonement of the soul: The rich shall not give more, and the poor shall not give less than half a shekel, when they give an offering unto the LORD, to make an atonement for your souls. Exodus 30:15 The daily tamid lamb offering was a communal sacrifice. The sacrifice was done on behalf of the nation of Israel. It was financed out of the half shekel offerings that were collected from the people once/year. The daily tamid lamb offering is linked to the entire nation of Israel. When Yeshua died on the tree, the way in which he died on the tree, is associated with the daily tamid lamb offering. When Yeshua died on the tree and the shed his blood, He was doing so on behalf of the entire nation of Israel. He also died for all the nations on the earth (John 3:16).
