Yeshua: Daily Tamid Lamb Offering Pt 7 ~ An Angel Appeared at the Incense Altar

from Hebraic Heritage Radio Podcasts · host Eddie Chumney

In this section of the teaching, we will continue looking at the daily Temple service as it relates to the daily tamid lamb offering. We will see that a third lot was drawn to select the priest who would burn incense at the incense altar. We will see that this is the setting in Luke 1 where Zecharias, the father of John the Baptist, was selected to burn the incense at the altar of incense. These prayers included personal prayers as well as the traditional standing prayer known as the Amidah. While Zecharias was burning the incense at the altar and offering up prayers to the God of Israel, something very special happened: There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the division of Abijah. So it was, that while he was serving as priest before God in the order of his division, according to the custom of the priesthood, his lot fell to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord. Then an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing on the right side of the altar of incense. Luke 1:5, 8-9, 11 In this teaching we will also examine the events surrounding the birth of John the Baptist. We will see that his calling and ministry was to prepare the way for the Messiah and he walked in the power and anointing of Elijah. Are these teachings a blessing to you?
