YHWH Is My Shepherd, I Lack Nothing | 3650 Minutes of Prayer

This is Day Eleven of 3650 Minutes of Prayer. This episode centers on Psalm 23, revealing the Shepherd nature of YHWH and the assurance that those who are led by Him lack nothing. Scripture shows that “I shall not want” is not a statement of desire denied, but of lack removed. Under the care of the Shepherd, nothing necessary for life, guidance, protection, or purpose is missing. This is not self-sufficiency, but complete dependence on God’s faithful presence.In Psalm 23, David speaks from relationship, not theory. YHWH is not a distant provider, but a present Shepherd. Because the Shepherd leads, provides, restores, and guards, the sheep do not lack what is required for the journey. The Psalm reveals that provision flows from presence. Green pastures, still waters, restored souls, right paths, and protection through the valley all come from the Shepherd’s guidance. The Shepherd knows what the sheep needs before the sheep knows it.This Psalm also points forward to Christ, in whom God’s provision is fully revealed. Scripture declares that in Christ we have been blessed with every spiritual blessing, given all things that pertain to life and godliness, and made partakers of the divine nature. If creation itself is sustained by God’s care, how much more those who belong to Christ and have received the Holy Spirit.
