YK Kol Nidrei Sermon: "What Vow Does G-d Nullify? --Getting Beyond the Curtain of Sin"

from The Jewish Mind · host Rabbi Avrohom Lipszyc

“Maggid d’vorov l’Yakov...” and this includes, “minhag Yisroel Torah hee,” so, what is G-d’s Kol Nidrei about? The promise of boundaries between Mitzvois and Averois, the promise of Seder Hishtalshilus, the promise of Elokim are nullified by the Lifnei Havayeh. However, this nullification can be done only in the physical realm, and not in the spiritual realm. Thus, Teshuvah must be done through, “Take with you words,” Torah and Mitzvot. Intimacy must be more than a feeling, it must be an action, in order to turn two hearts into one. Thus, when we annul the wall we build between our physical secular life and our Divine Jewish life, G-d in returns annuls the boundaries of separation between Light and Darkness caused by our sins.
