Yoga nidra to dispel fear and invite deep sleep (essential oils optional)

The recent announcement to extend shelter in place another month in California felt like someone moving the finish line further away, like the proverbial pandemic carrot got f#in yanked away. The struggle is real. For me, to stay spiritually fit is to trust in a higher truth especially when tempted to give up, collapse in a heap of worry, eat emotions (please no more carbs!), or lose sleep numbing out with Netflix . So many of us are not sleeping well right now and it’s one of our most effective ways to keep our body, mind and spirit fit. When sleep-deprived we can succumb to self-sabotaging thoughts and behaviors. Keep the course to self-care. I offer this yoga nidra to invite a deep rest, to release fear and trust that you are safe, now and in the future. As an option, I also mention essential oils to enhance your yoga nidra. Consider using lavender, peppermint, cinnamon, black spruce, or any other oils with the properties to dispel fear. Breathe deep and slow and relax the entire body.
