Yoga Philosophy (HINDI/हिंदी में)

from SyllabuswithRohit · host SyllabuswithRohit

In this video, we explore the deep teachings of Yoga Philosophy beyond the physical exercises. Yoga is not just about stretching or body movements; it’s about controlling the mind, managing emotions, and achieving mental clarity and peace.According to the ancient text Patanjali Yoga Sutra, Yoga helps us understand and control our mind, known as Citta. The mind constantly experiences disturbances or fluctuations, which are called Vritti. These fluctuations keep us distracted and restless. The ultimate goal of Yoga is to reduce these fluctuations and achieve a peaceful state of mind. The word Yoga comes from the Sanskrit word Yuj, meaning to unite or join. Yoga helps unite our body, mind, and emotions, leading to better control over our thoughts and feelings. It provides tools and techniques to control the mind and emotions, helping us reach a state of peace.Key Concepts: Citta (Mind) and Vritti (Fluctuations): The mind is divided into three parts: conscious, subconscious, and unconscious. Together, these affect our thoughts and emotions. The fluctuations of the mind (Vritti) disturb our mental peace. Controlling these fluctuations is key to achieving stability. Yoga and Emotional Intelligence: Yoga teaches us how to manage emotions effectively. Emotional Intelligence refers to the ability to understand and regulate emotions. Yoga helps improve this by increasing self-awareness, self-regulation, and the ability to understand others’ emotions. The Eight Limbs of Yoga (Ashtanga Yoga): Patanjali’s Ashtanga Yoga offers eight steps to achieve mental discipline and peace: Yama – Ethical conduct (truthfulness, non-violence, etc.) Niyama – Personal discipline (cleanliness, contentment, etc.) Asana – Physical postures to maintain a stable mind and body. Pranayama – Control of breath to calm the mind. Pratyahara – Withdrawal from external distractions. Dharana – Focus or concentration on a single point. Dhyana – Meditation for sustained attention. Samadhi – The ultimate state of peace and mental stillness. These steps guide us to bring the mind under control, reduce mental disturbances, and improve emotional stability. How Yoga Helps Control the Mind: Yoga provides practical tools like Dharana (concentration) and Dhyana (meditation) to reduce distractions and increase focus. These techniques help us train our minds to stay focused on one thought or object, gradually reducing unnecessary mental activity. Daily Benefits of Yoga: In modern life, Yoga helps reduce stress, improve focus, and build emotional resilience. It teaches us to handle anxiety and pressure more effectively by practicing mindfulness and staying aware of our thoughts and feelings. Connection Between Yoga and Modern Mindfulness: Yoga’s principles of focus and awareness are similar to modern mindfulness practices. Mindfulness means being fully aware of each action without judgment. It helps in stress reduction and emotional well-being by keeping the mind calm and present. Vairagya (Detachment) and Emotional Freedom: Yoga teaches detachment from material desires and expectations. This does not mean avoiding life’s responsibilities but reducing attachment to outcomes. This mindset helps manage disappointment and stress, leading to emotional freedom. Achieving Liberation (Kaivalya): The ultimate goal of Yoga is Kaivalya, or liberation. It means freeing the mind from desires, disturbances, and attachments. By mastering the mind through the techniques of Yoga, one can achieve complete mental peace and understand their true self.
