You Are All About That Gossip

Trey Knowles' “You Are All About That Gossip” is a powerful confrontation against gossip, hypocrisy, celebrity obsession, and the worldly desire to profit from other people's mistakes. The song challenges those who spend their time discussing celebrities such as Will Smith, spreading rumors, creating enemies in their minds, and condemning people they do not personally know. Trey reminds listeners that everyone has made mistakes, so no one should behave as though they are qualified to throw the first stone. Rather than joining the crowd and publicly judging others, Trey chooses mercy. He warns that a tongue fueled by hatred can become as dangerous as a snake, poisoning conversations with anger, confusion, and conflict. The song also criticizes online platforms and commercial media that turn gossip, drinking, drama, and mixed emotions into entertainment for money and status. “You Are All About That Gossip” ultimately asks listeners to examine their own lives: Do you have anything encouraging to say? Are you sincerely trying to live a holy life, or are you entertained by someone else's pain? Trey's message is clear—stop living through celebrity drama, mind your own business, reject toxic behavior, ask God for forgiveness, and use your words to encourage rather than destroy.
