You Are Just Like Your Fathers (Fathers Day Message) It’s hard being a father, sometimes when we come to church we beat up the fathers and criticize them of their mistakes  Everybody can bring a child in this world 🌍 but you need a dad to raise them There may be fathers who have missed a mark, this sermon is not to condemn but to help give God perspective on fatherhood  We are the image of our father  If it’s running in the family, it may be chasing after you  The curse is broken but the pattern is repeated  Jesus is living in your heart but grandpa is living in your genes 🧬  It is easier to copy sins than to make new ones  Stop repeating the pattern of broken people  You can’t change what you tolerate  You may be raising children and you were not properly parentedNB: The aim is not to go back and blame the past but rather to build from the past. This is the diagnosis of what went wrong in your family tree. God is able to heal and restore Absent Fathers Being a male is God’s choice, being a man is your choice  Having a right body part makes you a man  If you don’t become a man, default setting is boy You can be a 65 years old boy Having children and applying maturity and wisdom in raising them makes you a father“Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong. Let all that you do be done with love.”I Corinthians 16:13-14 NKJVThis is what this scripture means: Be faithful  Forgive  Be meek Love Have power under control The world 🌍 say: Do not care Sleep with everyone you want Hurt everyone whoever is coming Make babies, just make money for them so that they can wear expensive clothes. However inside they are crying out for attention and affection Present Fathers Doesn’t matter how good your father is, he’s only human and will never be perfect  Earthly fathers who forsake earthly children, tends to make earthly children who forsake The Heavenly Father Christians today receive Jesus and forsake The Father ““For my people have done two evil things: They have abandoned me— the fountain of living water. And they have dug for themselves cracked cisterns that can hold no water at all!”Jeremiah 2:13 NLT We are comfortable with: I am a servant of God, I am worker of God and I am a slave of God My son saidFather to the fatherless You can call someone father and still be fatherless  Father Is The Christian Name For God Old Testament refers to God as Jehovah  This Is My beloved Son in whom I am well pleased.  The devil tell us that God is not pleased with us but angry 😡 with us Jesus had not performed any miracle when God said these words  Relationship with God is not dependent on the performance 🎭 Ministry of the Father Throughout the bible the fathers role in their family is: Prophet - giving direction of where God is leading his people  Priest - mediating people with God. Praying for your family  King - highest authority at homeBlessings of the Father Jacob and Isaiah were contesting for one blessing  The one who did not deserve got it ahead of the one who did Jesus did not deserve to die we did but Ge exchanged a place with us, we got blessed  As a father of the prodigal sons did , we should try to govern equal love and treatment to our children  Blessing is passed down from higher authority to lower  Blessing is spoken upon someone.  When not spoken it is not released  Nobody knows what’s in your heart unless you speak it  Contracts and covenant were done by word of mouth  Your kids don’t know you love unless you tell them  You have to attach high value to the person you are blessing  You have to show full commitment to fulfill the blessing Fathers are called to bless their families Closure - God is not a reflection of your father but the perfection of your father - God is Everything that your earthly father couldn’t be
