You Are More Than Your Title

from Cheers To Your Pivot Podcast · host Dr. Taryn

Have you ever felt not good enough? Not smart enough? Not… ENOUGH? That’s called imposter syndrome, and way too many of us are living with it. Imposter syndrome is when, despite our many accomplishments, our wall of degrees, and our career success, we believe that we are inadequate.Living with imposter syndrome can be absolutely crippling, especially when it comes to the work of equity and inclusion. We can reduce ourselves to seeing our work as just… and I don’t mean fair, I mean we see ourselves as JUST a Mom, JUST a teacher, JUST a business person. This mindset of “just” lets us settle for less than and allows us to believe that we can only make small changes because we are JUST one person. On today’s episode, I’m here to tell you that is NOT the case. Being just one person can make a whole lot of difference - you just have to believe in yourself. I’ll also be covering the history of Juneteenth, talking about the importance of perseverance when it comes to accomplishing seemingly impossible tasks, and hooking you up with 13 questions designed to help you build bridges, make connections, and get to know friends, and family, coworkers, and strangers better as you reflect on your work in diversity, equity, and inclusion. Hit play for an informative episode sure to help you continue to make big changes in your community.--------------------------Don't miss out on future episodes!
