David's anger burned hot: "The man who has done this deserves to die!" Then Nathan delivered four words that collapsed a year of careful concealment: "You are the man." In that moment, David's elaborate cover-up was stripped away, and he stood exposed before God and prophet alike. His response makes all the difference: "I have sinned against the LORD." No excuses, no deflection, no attack on the messenger. Just confession. And God's answer through Nathan: "The LORD has put away your sin."The Psalm gives us David's prayer after confrontation: "Create in me a clean heart, O God." The word "create" is bara, the same word used in Genesis for God creating the universe from nothing. David is not asking for improvement but for new creation. Meanwhile, the Gospel shows Jesus asleep in a boat while a storm threatens to drown his disciples. "Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?" He rises, rebukes the wind, speaks to the sea, "Peace! Be still!" and chaos submits. The disciples' fear of drowning transforms into holy awe: "Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?" On this memorial of Saint John Bosco, who spent his life calming the storms in young people's hearts through gentleness and kindness, we ask: What storm is raging in your life? What confrontation are you avoiding? The God who calms seas can calm your heart.📖 ReadingsFirst Reading: 2 Samuel 12:1-7a, 10-17Responsorial Psalm: Psalm 51:12-13, 14-15, 16-17Gospel: Mark 4: 35-41⏱️ Timeline00:00 Introduction00:15 Reading I - 2 Samuel 12:1-7a,10-1702:37 Psalm Response - Psalm 5107:35 Gospel - Mark 4: 35-4108:24 Reflection - You Are the Man🎧 Prefer to listen on the go?
