"You Can't Be Good Enough" - 2 Corinthians 12:7-10

Many are deceived into thinking that being "good enough" is how you attain a right relationship with God. They have a mental image of some cosmic scales that weigh our bad works against our good works, and if the good is more than the bad, we are right with God; or at least they hope this is so. Just as common it the paradigm of a ladder, with God at the top, waiting for you to climb all the rungs to be right with Him. Only when they reach that last rung, it seems God has added some more. Both of these are wrong. The scales don't exist. The ladder doesn't exist. They are both illusions that keep us from seeing that the way to God is not scales or a ladder, but a Cross; and the Good News is that the Cross is empty because all the work we thought had to be done has already been done by the Lamb of God Who takes away the sins of the world. Not only that, The tomb where the Lamb was buried is empty, confirming the sufficiency of the work that was done on that Cross.
