You Can't Sit With Us - Episode (#86) - (Lord Goldie) - Presented by Threshold Brace
from You Can't Sit With Us Radio · host L.Ambitious and Que
Hailing from Nashville,TN, Lord Goldie, also known as Karizma (a monicher aptly coined for her charismatic stage presence), has been a creative, an artist and an iconoclast since birth. In a town that has historically turned its back on the hip hop community, Lord Goldie exists in an authentic space that fuses underground hip hop, soul, and rock. During her formative years, Goldie was equally as inspired by Linkin Park, Jimi Hendrix, and Nirvana as she was by Jay-Z, Tupac, Queen Latifah, and UGK. It is now no surprise that she is well-versed in cross-genre collaboration and marrying distinct sounds into a cohesive story. Lord Goldie has carved a niche in the greater Nashville area, thus enabling her to release meaningful content consistently. This multi-hyphenate raps, writes, produces, and manages, offering creative direction to up-and-coming independent artists like herself. She released her debut project, Built 2 Last, in 2014 and has only gained momentum since then. The following year, part one of her EP series ADHD (Another Dollar Hustlin Daily) was met with rave reviews. In 2017, Goldie dropped music videos for singles “Day By Day” and “Like I’m Broke” on YouTube. Later that year, she collaborated with eclectic Pop/R&B band, MUJA Music, to provide a dynamic live show unlike anything that’s been seen in Music City. Lord Goldie has graced the stages of many iconic Nashville staples, including The Mercy Lounge, The High Watt, The Back Corner, and City Winery. Her talents have even taken her to the New Orleans House of Blues, as well as the coveted SXSW and A3C festival stages. Her Trap Conscious EP was released in 2018, leading with the single, “Leanin.” 2019 was a transformative year for Lord Goldie as she continued to mesmerize crowds while performing alongside a live band. She released the hit singles “Risks,” “How Low,” and “When You Ready.” By the end of 2019, Goldie’s resonant Trap Conscious catapulted her to nominations for Best Rap Solo Artist, Best Urban Album, and Album of the Year at the Nashville Industry Music Awards. In 2020, Lord Goldie continues to push the needle forward in the Nashville hip-hop scene, while keeping her ear to the streets to elevate and support new talent.
