I'm sure this won't be popular, but it's true. Just because you believe you're a good person or your wrongdoing was from a "good place" doesn't mean you deserve anything. When you're given an opportunity, expect that to be your only chance at that. If another one is granted, awesome! You should never expect it, though. I reminded myself of this today when I stood someone up for a podcast interview. It wasn't my intention, but it happened. I own that. I know the sequence of events that led me to this end, and it's all on me. GOOD! I can fix the sequence for future interactions with podcast hosts. That's all that's in my control. Lesson learned.
