You have to win.

“And He was withdrawn from them about a stone’s throw, and He knelt down and prayed, saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.” Then an angel appeared to Him from heaven, strengthening Him. And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.” Luke 22: 41-44. I can’t imagine how everything would be if Jesus Christ didn’t win over death. He would still be dead, and you and I…would probably be dead in our sin too. This freedom you are now experiencing in Christ, would be unimaginable. Healing, grace, love, joy, peace…would all be things we never thought we could experience. How about a relationship with God? We can’t even go there! “Everything” depended on Christ Jesus winning over the power of death. He literally had so much pressure to win that He really couldn’t afford not to. Everything and Everyone was at stake. He had to do it for us. I would like to imagine how difficult it must have been for Him to finally win out of death…but He did it anyway! The same goes for you. This generation depends on the hope you bring to it. You cannot afford to fail at the mission God has placed before you because they may be your way of conquering hell for someone else. Your obedience to the mission God is giving to you is very important. It is going to save someone’s life, and sometimes even your own life. Is God telling you to do something that is too scary to be true? Just go ahead and do it. Scared and uncertain as you are…sometimes even painful as it is. Jesus was terrified of the cross too. He almost quit, but He did it still. Imagine if He quit? You have to win too! Be like Christ!
