Millennials now make up the largest share of pet owners, while Gen Xers—many of them empty nesters with disposable income—are spending the most. The result is a booming pet economy worth well over $150 billion in the United States alone, fuelled by premium food, training classes, daycare, pet insurance and even dog-friendly offices.
