You Must Be Born Again

Matthew 4:1–11; John 1:19–3:24Fresh from his baptism, Jesus fasts forty days in the wilderness before the devil comes to tempt him. Meanwhile, John the Baptist tells the priests who he is not, then points out who Jesus is — the Lamb of God. Two of John's own followers leave to follow Jesus instead, and word spreads quickly through Galilee. At a wedding in Cana, Jesus turns water into wine, his first public sign, before traveling to Jerusalem for the Passover, where he drives the money-changers from the temple courts. That night, a Pharisee named Nicodemus comes to him in secret, and Jesus tells him that no one can see the kingdom of God without being born again.We are in a Matthew-John Harmony.
