Pastor John KeatingJesus Loved God, His Father, Which Produced Obedience:- The bond between Jesus and His Father exemplifies deep love and obedience, as shown at His baptism (Matt. 3:17).- Jesus' love for His Father drove Him to fulfill God's will, even at the cost of His own life (John 14:31; Luke 22:41-44).- True love for Jesus is demonstrated through obedience to His commands (John 14:15), and immersing ourselves in Scripture helps us live out God's will (Matt. 25:21).Jesus Loved His Disciples, Which Produced Transformed Lives:- Jesus' love for His disciples was focused on their spiritual growth, as seen in His compassion for Lazarus and His family (John 11:36).- His love transformed them, offering freedom from sin and empowering them to live for Him (2 Cor. 5:14), calling us to imitate His sacrificial love (Eph. 5:1-2).Jesus Loved His Enemies, Which Produced a New Hope:- Jesus' love extended even to His enemies, demonstrating grace toward those who rejected Him, such as the rich young ruler (Mark 10:21).- His radical love is evident in His prayer at the cross, in which He forgives His tormentors and offers a love that transcends all boundaries (Luke 23:34).Jesus Loved You-Do We Love the Way Jesus Loved?- Followers of Jesus are called to love as He did, obey God's will, transform their lives, and reach out to others, even those who oppose them.- Loving like Jesus means living selflessly, reflecting His love in all areas of life, and loving our neighbors regardless of their response.
