How do I change my loved ones? How do I change jobs? How do I? I learned this from my wife, “You cannot change somebody else until you change yourself first.” And that’s what she did! She wanted me to quit smoking. She wanted me to be a better person. And you know what my wife did, instead of changing me, she changed herself. You start with Y. O. U. R. S. E. L. F. Change YOU first! People can motivate you but your habit will keep you going. There’s this thing that says “Motivation can get you started, but habits keep you going.” People can motivate you but if you’re not doing it yourself and not creating a habit for yourself, it’s not going to do you good. Learn to become an OVERCOMER and OUTSTANDING PERSON How do you become an overcomer? Basically, t’s pushing yourself to the next level. Believing and being outstanding in everything that you do. Learn how to be UNDERSTANDING That’s what my wife did. She kept on understanding me in order for me to be able to change. If she didn’t understand me, I won’t be able to change. READ, READ and READ Read positive and uplifting books. There’s a reason why I don’t get a newspaper anymore because all I hear and see is negative news. And now I’m starting to read more inspirational books, obviously the BIBLE. At least a minimum of 10 pages of positive and uplifting books. In order to change yourself, you need to keep on reading. Because faith comes from reading and hearing and seeing. STOP BEING SELFISH When you’re selfish and just thinking about yourself, it’s just going to be you. You won’t change that person or you won’t change your job. ENERGY or ENTHUSIASM You have to have that enthusiasm of not only changing that person but also changing yourself. LEARN HOW TO LOVE Love yourself, love the people around you. In that way, you can be the best that you can be. FAITH You have to have faith. Faith in that person, faith in yourself, and obviously, faith in GOD. Faith is the substance of things hoped for. The evidence of things not yet seen. You may not see or you may not feel that change in that person. But if you’re changing yourself, you will eventually see that change in that person. That’s what faith is!
