You Think You’re Fine… But Are You?- Wednesday Eve

On Tuesday of Holy Week, the Church shifts her hymns and her focus toward Christ our Good Savior, the One who is about to offer Himself for the life of the world. In this deeply searching message, Fr. Elijah reflects on two of the most convicting parables of Holy Week: the five wise and five foolish virgins, and the wedding banquet with the man who had no wedding garment. Both groups looked close. Both were present. Both seemed involved. And yet, in the end, some were accepted and some were cast out. This sermon asks a sobering question: What if everything looks fine on the outside, but the inside is collapsing? With the image of a beautiful house rotting from within, this talk exposes the danger of spiritual delusion, outward religion without inward readiness, and the idolatry of the heart. It also calls us to watchfulness, honesty, repentance, and real response to the grace God is offering this week. Do you have oil in your lamp? Are you wearing the garment given to you in baptism?
