Alexander Poetzsch hat Architektur an der TU Dresden und der KTH Stockholm studiert. Nach dem Studium arbeitete er freiberuflich für verschiedene Büros, bevor er 2007 mit 2 Kollegen das Büro zanderarchitekten GBR in Dresden gründete. 2013 trennte er sich von dem dann noch verbliebenen GbR- Partner. Eine zwischenzeitlich gegründete Bauträger GmbH wurde ebenfalls geschlossen. Die anschließende Position als Geschäftsführer der Knerer und Lang Architekten GmbH legte er Anfang 2015 nieder und gründete ALEXANDER POETZSCH ARCHITEKTEN.
