Young at Heart

Morning Mantra: “A playful heart stays young in spirit.”

You know when someone walks into a room and their energy and light draws you to them? Many times, that person isn’t even pretty or handsome by societal standards, but they exude such a peace and positivity that you want to be in their presence.

This is what I strive for as I age. It is difficult to grow older in this day-and-age, especially if you are on social media or in the public eye at all. But I have decided to accept my lines, my sagging skin and thinning hair, and am focusing on my vibe instead.  As I grow older I’m struck by how it’s less and less about how I look and what I do, but more about who I am.

I can’t control the march of time on my body, but I can on my spirit.  My spirit can stay young forever.  My spirit can still dance, laugh, sing, learn, explore, and feel free. Age is just a number if I never let go of my inner child.

So focus on your inner child.  Let your spirit free.  Free from self-judgement, free from caring about what others think, and free just to be my older self.
