Young K-9 Gator Makes Big Drug Bust | Miami News

Meet Gator, Miami Beach PD’s newest and youngest K-9 officer — just one year old but already a drug-sniffing powerhouse. In August, this German Shepherd-Belgian Malinois mix detected cocaine and fentanyl in a Collins Avenue parking lot, helping officers intercept dangerous substances before they hit the streets. His handler, Officer Austin Stenback, also saved a man who passed out nearby, calling for immediate medical help. Despite his puppy status, Gator’s sharp nose and quick instincts are making him a top performer — proving that age is just a number when it comes to protecting the city.
