Your ADHD Might Predict Your Brain's Future
from The Lab Report with MJ. Hosted by Michael Jenkin
A University of Pittsburgh study of 187,341 adults finds ADHD is linked to a higher chance of dementia later in life — about 3.7% vs 1.9% over 10 years — with risks varying by ancestry. Crucially, taking ADHD medication was linked to a lower risk, and genes helped explain why some groups are more vulnerable. It's association, not destiny. #Shorts #ADHD #BrainHealth #Neuroscience Music: "Sunshine" Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com), licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 4.0 License, http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ Science Lord character by Keenan McDonald. 📖 My book *The Last Inheritance* — https://a.co/d/01ZVxQ6il Chapters: 00:03 Intro: ADHD is a lifelong brain-health story 00:50 The 187,341-person study 01:22 Why ancestry matters 01:57 The protective clue: ADHD medication 02:33 Genes that predict attention and memory 03:06 Association is not destiny 03:53 What this means for you
