“Your Attention Is the Most Valuable Thing You Have” | Jonathan Haidt, Social Psychologist

Jonathan Haidt is a social psychologist and professor at New York University. In this conversation, he focuses particularly on the impact of smartphones and social media on children and teenagers. Haidt examines the decline in sustained attention, problematic use of digital platforms, anxiety, depression, and the shift of much of social life into digital environments. In 2024, he published The Anxious Generation, a book that has helped fuel an international movement to change norms around childhood and technology. He also introduces The Amazing Generation, aimed at children aged 8 to 13.
