Your Business Is Not Your Identity

In this week’s episode, Yaz takes us on a deep dive into the importance of having an identity outside of our business. Often as business owners and entrepreneurs, we allow our business to take over and become our whole identity but it’s important to have a life outside your business.Yaz shares her insight around the psychology behind why we as people, but especially as women can use our business as a form of self validation. This can lead to over giving, over performing and leave us chasing external validation to feel worthy. It is natural for the lines to blur when it is your business because you created it, even more so when it’s built from a place of passion.It’s time to separate your business from your identity and give yourself permission to have a life outside of it. What hobbies can you start, how can you enjoy life outside of working and behind your laptop, can you try something new? Have you ever taken a CEO switch off? Maybe it’s not about having hobbies but having stronger boundaries with yourself around working hours and your life outside of work. It’s time to start putting the business owner before the business and looking after yourself girl because you are worthy. You deserve to be cared for the way you care for others.This week, do one thing for yourself outside of business. Block some time off in your calendar and put it in your favourite colour to look after yourself and pour into your own cup.
