Your Experience Is Valid Because Neurodivergence Is a Spectrum

In this episode of The Sweet Diary of a Stay-at-Home Mom, I am diving deep into the ableism that exists within the neurodivergent community. I am speaking directly to those who have been dismissed, shamed, or told that their autism or ADHD does not look the way it is “supposed to.” I share personal experiences as a mother, daughter, and neurodivergent woman living with ADHD, autism, pathological demand avoidance, trauma, and PMDD. You will hear about the ways masking, survival mode, and childhood environment shape how neurodivergence shows up. I am also calling out the judgment and comparison that often comes from within our own community.
