She brings her embodied experience of losing her first child Finlay during childbirth to her work as a teacher and writer about grief. Joanne facilitates creative grief projects - including a Grief Pen Pal Network, online Grief Mapping course, and Grief Workshops - through Inviting Abundance (invitingabundance.net). She teaches Perinatal Loss trainings on behalf of the Institute for the Study of Birth, Breath, and Death and Homegrown Families. Her writing on grief has appeared in Modern Loss, Still Standing Magazine, Mindfulness & Grief, and the Institute for the Study of Birth, Breath, and Death.
