The first is the Yorkshire marathon, which is set to take place on Sunday 15th October in York. Amongst those running it, Ben Kempley, who tragically lost his 23-year-old sister Ellie last September, to SADS (Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome). Ellie was a nursery teacher who was midway through an AMI Montessori 3-6 Diploma and so her family are establishing a scholarship in her memory at the Maria Montessori Institute. Their aim is to support aspiring teachers just like Ellie. Ben has set up a GoFundMe campaign in memory of his “beautiful sister” with the hope of raising £16,000. On the same day, Oliver Blake and a team of family and friends, will carry an 80kg weighted stretcher whilst tackling the Yorkshire 3 peaks. The hope is to set a Guinness World Record in the process and the reason? Oli's wife Sheena was diagnosed with a stage four incurable brain tumour back in June. Since diagnosis, Sheena has somehow summoned the strength to raise thousands for the Brain tumour charity and now a good family friend, has suggested the Yorkshire 3 peaks, to raise funds for Sheena, Oliver and their two girls to make memories...
