Your Kingdom Come — The Prayer of Jesus

Concluding the prayer series, this message reframes the Lord's Prayer as the Disciples' Prayer, the pattern Jesus taught when His followers asked Him to teach them to pray. He first addresses motive: prayer is not a public performance but a private, authentic conversation with a holy God. "Your kingdom come, your will be done" is read as a dangerous prayer that wrecks our own kingdom, taking off the crown and making us available for whatever God's purpose requires. "Daily bread" prompts gratitude and generosity from those who, by global measure, are richly provided for. The hardest petition is forgiveness. Forgiving others does not declare their wrong acceptable; it extends the undeserved grace we have received. The teaching calls hearers to stop reciting familiar words blindly and to consider what the prayer actually asks of them.
