Such legal personality facilitates and enables bio-geo entities to sue in their own name; and enforce rights and protect their interests. These developments sit alongside greater cognisance and responsibility for 'future generations' litigated and enforced by courts. What are the implications of these developments for social and legal organisation as we have known it? Speaker:   Stewart Motha is Professor of Law, Birkbeck, University of London. He has served as Executive Dean of Birkbeck Law School from 2016-22, and in 2023 will be the John Hinkley Visiting Chair at Johns Hopkins University. He has published widely on problems of sovereignty, imperialism, and indigenous land rights.
