Your Past Has a Purpose, Your Future Has a Savior.
from The Greater Purpose Hosted by Bill "Willy ACE" Ward
This video features a Sunday School class at the South Gastonia Church of God, led by Bill Ward. The session serves as a transition, as the church prepares to move its Sunday School class to a new location in the fellowship hall starting in November (0:04, 2:07, 31:44). Key Highlights: Transition & Appreciation: Bill Ward reflects on the history of the class, paying tribute to Sister Cookie (62 years of teaching) and Brother Odell (45 years of teaching) for their long-term service and for entrusting him and Kelly with the platform (2:33, 2:56, 3:24). Logistics: The class discusses upcoming changes, including the new start time of 10:20 AM and the importance of using Wednesday night 'Huddle' meetings for administrative questions regarding the church's transition (4:38, 6:48, 31:53). Theological Lesson: The core lesson centers on Salvation, emphasizing that it is a gift of God's grace received through faith in Jesus Christ, not earned through religious works or checklists (7:29, 8:05, 30:46). The discussion covers key themes from Romans 3 and Romans 5: Justification: God declares us right with Him through faith (9:13, 10:43). Peace & Hope: Believers gain a restored relationship with God and endurance through hardship (13:00, 14:41). Reconciliation: Christ died for us while we were still sinners, demonstrating God’s reconciling love (16:44, 18:05). Practical Application: The class emphasizes living with gratitude and showing grace to others, even when it is difficult, as a response to God's love (11:56, 21:08, 26:17).
