David Johnson discusses Jeremiah 15:16—“Your words were found, and I ate them, and Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; for I am called by Your name, O LORD God of hosts.”NOTE: While it’s possible that the term “Christian” was originally intended by non-believers to be demeaning, it’s difficult to say with certainty. The Greek word Χριστιανοί (Christianoi, or “Christ’s people”) may simply have been a way to identify those who believed in the divinity of Jesus Christ.
