You're Allowed to Change the Cost of Access to You

from The Renegade Writer's Mouthy Musings · host The Mouthy Renegade Writer and The Jack-Buddhist Therapist

Hey Substack! Glad to see you all today, thank you for checking out this episode. I had a thought about something today as I was driving around running errands with Libby the Mooch. We were enjoying a nice car ride, she loves a good buh-bye, when this thought hit me:You have every right to change the cost, terms, or conditions for people to access your time. Your time is valuable, and it should be treated as such. If someone doesn’t understand that or gets offended by you saying “no” to their request, fuck ‘em. The real ones will understand and have your back. Don’t feel guilt or shame for putting your needs and your mental health ahead of their requests. The holidays are coming up and you are under no obligation to do anything you don’t feel like doing. This includes spending time with MAGA family members if they can’t/won’t respect your boundaries. I’m putting myself, my family, and Mooch first this holiday season. And it’s going to fucking rock. Thank you for downloading this episode and I appreciate all of the love and support you’re sending my way. And special thanks to the ones who are giving Mooch and me the paid and free subscriptions. It motivates us to keep kicking ass and entertaining you all. We love you all. &:^)You Have the Right to Remain Mouthy is a reader-supported publication.
