The movie was based on a Scholastic book by the same name "You're Bacon Me Crazy: A Wish Novel" by author Suzanne Nelson. Nelson has written 16 other middle grade and young adult novels and was also given writing credit for this film on IMDB. He currently has 40 directing credits including "Mystery on Mistletoe Lane" from the 2023 holiday line up and "Fourth Down and Love" from 2023.
