Dr. Tavara Johnson interviews Gary Ohler. If “Know-How” is knowing what to do, “Do-How” is about getting it done. Gary Ohler specializes in helping people level up their “Do-How” - the shift in behavior that delivers results – in their work and in their lives. He has over three decades of experience leading, coaching, and mentoring in the areas of business and community leadership and team dynamics. His credentials include an MBA from Bradley University with an emphasis in Organizational Leadership, Chartered Leadership Fellow from The American College, and he is a certified DISC Behavioral Analysis Trainer and Consultant. Over the course of his professional career, Gary held leadership positions with national insurance carriers, and served as an adjunct professor at Lincoln College. Today, Gary is President of APPEX Partners, where he helps organizations transition managers into leaders, transform workplaces, and develop high performing teams. In 2018 he was certified as a speaker, trainer and coach by the most recognized leadership expert in a generation, John C. Maxwell. Gary is an Executive Program Leader with the Maxwell Leadership Certified Team who thoroughly researches proven concepts and creates narratives that support the “nuts and bolts” of leadership development. He is an active member of Toastmasters International, the National Speakers Association and the Association of Leadership Educators. Gary lives with his wife, Julie, in Normal, IL. They are the proud parents to Courtney and Chelsea, and when Gary isn’t working on – or in – leadership he volunteers to impact the next generation of leaders as Territory 6 Council Relations Lead for the for the Boy Scouts of America.
