Build Aid Missions had a team visiting Vanuatu, and while there they poured a new concrete slab and pathways for the V2Life Associations newest classrooms. They also did some preparatory work for their new office container that should be arriving onsite soon. (source) Pray for Revival in the Church This month as part of YWAM’s Global Prayer Day, called The Invitation, we prayed for Revival in the Church. Covid managed to affect many areas of life, and one of those quite dramatically impacted was the Church. In the US church attendance is down about 33% from pre-covid times. During our prayer day we had three primary focuses for prayer, and one item for action. They were … To Pray for God to raise up more church leaders Pray for continued growth in community outreach Pray for those who have not returned to church The action item what we were encouraged to do was to reach out to anyone that you know hasn’t returned to church after the pandemic. YWAM San Francisco – Outreach during Covid The last few years has seen massive disruption to people’s lives, and greatly affected outreach and missions work. YWAM Saint Marc, Haiti Food Distribution Haiti is in the midst of one of the most difficult times in recent memory. Food shortages, cholera, little to no gasoline and armed gangs are all contributing to making life in Haiti extremely challenging. In the midst of this YWAM Haiti needs to make sure their campus can function, their staff is taken care of, they need to make sure their base is secure and their emergency protocols are in place. On top of all of that one of the most important things they are doing is reaching out to their community. There is a lot of need in the community, people are struggling, and hopelessness is creeping in. YWAM Haiti is continuing to be a light to the people around them, and are doing so in many different ways… In February they are going to have their annual Camp of Light, where 300-400 youth from the city come to their campus to play games, eat together, worship, and learn about Jesus. This is always such an impactful time and it will encourage those who come. They are also hosting a Valentines Gala, which is a beautiful event with food and music and an opportunity to share about God’s plan for relationships. This week YWAM put together bags of food for 400 people. The lack of food, and rising costs, have put many people in a vulnerable position when it comes to food security. Next week the YWAM teams will go out and deliver all the packages. They ask that we would pray that the people who receive the packages would know that God has heard their prayers, and loves them very much. Using Fitness in Missions Respect the Corners at YWAM Kona uses fitness to bring the Gospel to the most isolated places on earth. They team trains in Kona, Hawaii then treks through the Himalayan region to distribute Bibles to unreached villages. Create International – Smartphone Training In August 2022, a team from Create International and Media4Movements came to Malawi, Africa to prepare for the June 2023 Frontier Filmmaking Seminar and Yao film production. The Bible Effect – Videos Another exciting development that I have come across recently is a bunch of free animated Bible Resources that are written to help you to go deeper into the books of the Bible. The latest video that was released gives the historical background of the world of Jesus and the Gospels. These videos are really high quality and are being made by a collaboration of YWAM Staff out of three bases in Europe and North America. Pray for Loren Please pray for Loren Cunningham, the founder of Youth With A Missoin. He was hospitalized before Thanksgiving and has since then has been released, but still has been struggling with poor health.
