The latest numbers from Statistics South Africa show that South Africa’s economy has shrank by 3.2 percent in the first quarter. Experts claim that that the country could be already experiencing a recession, as this has been the worst performance in this quarter in a decade. Adding pressure the country’s economic performance is the unemployment rate which is now at 27.6 percent, in half of that percentage is of young people who don’t have any work. Today on our Youth Month program, we look at how the country can change the tide for young people regarding the unemployment problem.
