YouthBuild 2026 Launches in Jacksonville | Jacksonville News

AMIkids Jacksonville just snagged a $1.5 million federal grant to launch YouthBuild 2026, a bold new program training 66 at-risk teens and young adults in construction and marine trades—skills that are in high demand. Starting in November, participants will earn industry credentials, gain hands-on experience on real housing projects or in shipyards, and develop leadership skills—all while getting case management and employer connections. Backed by local partners like CareerSource and Florida State College, this 40-month initiative aims to build a stronger workforce for Northeast Florida and give youth a pathway to stable, meaningful careers—with AMIkids working to raise a 25% match to make it happen.
