You’ve Got a Friend in Me Pt. 2 - Intercession

This lane is specifically designed to address building our friendship with the Holy Spirit through intercessory prayer (for others' benefit) and speaking in tongues (for our benefit). God intercedes for us and we have the privilege of being able to do for others what he so graciously does for us.  1 Timothy 2:1-6 NIV 1 I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all people.  1 Corinthians 14:4 NIV Anyone who speaks in a tongue edifies themselves… Do unto others as the Holy Spirit does do for you. How can we activate it this week? Commit to five minutes of daily interceding for others in prayer. Set your alarm five minutes earlier if you need to. Set a five-minute timer if that would help. Do it with a roommate, friend, or family member. Have fun with it. Ask God to give you the gift of tongues.
