In the same way that Satan had a dwelling (throne) in the church in Pergamum, Satan has put up thrones in other churches and within the hearts of people. The easiest way for him to do this is to take sound doctrine and teaching and twist it slightly. This is a perversion of the truth! It’s what Satan did in the garden of Eden, and when he tempted Jesus in the desert, and he continues to do it today. “Those who have ears, let them hear.” “We have ears, let us hear.” 2 Timothy 4:3 NIV - 3 For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. Revelation 1:3 NIV - 3 Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near. Fear of man leads to compromise. Fear of God leads to truth.
