Job 1:9 "Then Satan answered the LORD and said, "Does Job fear God for no reason?"撒但回答耶和华说：“约伯敬畏​神，岂是无故呢？Job 1:10 "Have you not put a hedge around him and his house and all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land."你岂不是四面圈上篱笆围护他和他的家，并他一切所有的吗？他手所作的，都蒙你赐福；他的家产也在地上增多。Job 1:11 "But stretch out your hand and touch all that he has, and he will curse you to your face."你且伸手，毁他一切所有的；他必当面弃掉你。”Job 1:12 "And the LORD said to Satan, "Behold, all that he has is in your hand. Only against him do not stretch out your hand." So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD."耶和华对撒但说：“凡他所有的，都在你手中；只是不可伸手加害于他。”于是撒但从耶和华面前退去。
