Stepping up to lead vocals was drummber Phil Collins, a man who would become a powerful force in pop music in the 1980's. Wind and Wuthering was the band's 8th album. Keyboardist Tony Banks' influence on the sound of Genesis was starting to emerge, a development that led guitarist Steve Hacket to leave for other creative opportunities the following year.
