有一只驴子驮着盐过河。突然，它脚下一滑，整个身子都跌进了河里。一部分盐溶化了，它站起来时感到背上的盐袋轻了许多。驴子高兴地想：“原来东西遇到了水就会变轻啊！”后来，驴子驮着海绵过河。它故意摔倒在河中，想让海绵变轻。它不知道海绵一遇水就变得沉重无比。结果，驴子怎么也站不起来，最后淹死在了河里。
