Yusuf Abramjee is a journalist by trade, but he does not limit himself to the newsroom. His mission is to ensure progress in community development in a democratic society. Abramjee, through the LeadSA campaigns, has worked closely with the Department of Basic Education to ensure improvement in South Africa’s education system. He is a trustee of the Shout Foundation, a campaign working to create a safer South Africa and while he was the head of Crime Line tip-off service Crime Line has led to numerous arrests and millions in seizures. He was awarded the Order of the Baobab in Silver for his excellent contribution to the field of community development through LeadSA. He was recently reappointment by Arts and Culture Minister Nathi Mthethwa as a social cohesion advocate for a further five years.
